Springfield Ronald McDonald House at the PeaceHealth Heartfelt House Celebrates Five Years!
The Springfield Ronald McDonald House at PeaceHealth Heartfelt House just recently celebrated its fifth anniversary of serving over 2,500 families, providing more than 25,000 free night stays for families who travel for life-saving medical care for their children. Over the past five years, this remarkable facility has truly become a lifeline for parents facing the unimaginable stress of having a critically ill or injured child. Our mission at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is to keep families close when it matters most, offering not only a place to rest but also a profound sense of community and support.
Each stay comes at no financial cost to families but offers immense emotional and practical value. Our Springfield House is more than a place to sleep; it’s a space of respite and healing, complete with home-cooked meals, communal spaces, and thoughtful services designed to lighten burdens. Here’s one family’s story we think you’ll appreciate.
While we’ve only been in the community for a short time, we are growing deep roots and making an impact locally. Though RMHC is an internationally recognized nonprofit, every dollar raised for our Springfield House supports families right here. Our community has shown up and continues to do so in wonderful ways!
When RMHC arrived in Springfield five years ago, it was important to us that our House be well integrated into this community. With such a strong running contingent and a world-class track, it only made sense for us to partner with Eugene Marathon to raise money with our Run for RMHC Team! With 150 participants and generous corporate partners, we raised over $150,000 in 2024 to support the families staying at RMHC! We look forward to growing the program in 2025 and invite our community to join us in this movement.
No family wants to be away from their community support, especially during the holidays, so we do what we can to make this time special. This holiday season, we are collecting gift cards for the families we serve, so they can choose gifts for their loved ones, keeping their season bright even when they are far from home. If you would like to help, gift cards can be brought or mailed to the Heartfelt House.
To brighten spirits at the Heartfelt House, Kendall Lexus and RMHC invite you to our “Light the House” Celebration on December 5that 5-6:30pm. At this free, family-friendly event, we’ll provide grilled cheese and tomato soup, a hot cocoa bar, Santa visits and pictures, and of course, a ceremonial lighting of the House!
As we celebrate our fifth year, we’re humbled and inspired by the thousands of lives touched. Together, we’re creating a ripple effect of kindness and resilience, and we invite our entire community to be part of this journey. Every story, every family, and every act of generosity bring us closer to a future where all children and families feel supported and seen. Thank you, Springfield, for helping us keep families close.
