We hear you just had an anniversary! Happy 30th! We’d love to hear how JourneyTree came to be.
In 1993, friends and family encouraged me (Jonathan Brandt) to turn my hobby of helping others with financial planning and investments into an actual business. Having a home office in the early years with small children about was lively, but we soon leased officed space, began hiring other staff, and expanded our expertise and services. It has been highly rewarding to be a part of people reaching their financial and life goals.
What sets JourneyTree apart from other financial advisors?
I think it is our thorough and relentless approach to guiding people to clarify and achieve their financial goals. Our friendly and open manner makes it comfortable for people to deal with what can be a stressful and challenging task.
What are some exciting collaborations you’ve experienced in your journey as a local business owner?
Of course, we are constantly collaborating with our clients to help them create the best possible outcomes. We also partner with other professionals to provide a comprehensive approach to clients’ needs. Working with accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, and others (many of whom are Eugene Chamber members) allows us to be part of a complete solution to client challenges.
Why Eugene? What makes doing business here, special for you?
The quality of life in Eugene is extremely high, and many interesting people have strategically chosen to live here. Being in a college town is exciting with all the cultural and athletic events going on. And we enjoy working with University of Oregon faculty and staff – one of our specialty areas.
What are some of your favorite things to do in our region?
We believe in doing our part to make the Eugene-Springfield area better by supporting numerous cultural groups as well as The Friends of Trees with whom we have sponsored tree walks and plantings. We are also very fond of sampling the area’s excellent wine and food.
How has the Eugene Chamber of Commerce supported JourneyTree’s success?
We have long supported the Chamber and have benefited from many of its activities such as improving the local business climate, engaging in important government issues, training through its leadership and other programs. Thank you!
