Women Business Leaders’ Leader of the Year Finalists Announced

We couldn’t wait to get out the news that four finalists have been selected in recognition of this year’s Women Business Leaders, Leader of the Year! We hope you will join us in congratulating every one of these remarkable local leaders who have demonstrated their abilities at building community and leading well.
Without further ado, your finalists are…
Anna Backus with KPFF Consulting Engineers
Anna’s nominator writes that Anna has “established herself as a gifted, generous mentor and leader in the Eugene community”. Anna is known for her work establishing the KPFF JEDI group (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) in 2020, while nurturing her staff’s continued progress and education in the civil engineering field, while simultaneously pushing them to be leaders in their own right”.
Jenny Bennett with Summit Bank
“Jenny is a loyal and fierce advocate for children and families in our community and selflessly gives of her time and talent to support many non-profit organizations.” Jenny’s nominator notes her significant role in growing Summit Bank, and her continual involvement in improving the industry. Jenny currently chairs the Oregon Bankers Association Marketing Roundtable, serves on the American Bankers Association’s Communications Council, volunteers on the Relief Nursery Board of Directors, and the list goes on.
Haley Lyons with Kernutt Stokes
Haley’s nominator notes that “she is one of the youngest partners in a group that has been historically all male and is a powerhouse in the industry”, and describes her extracurricular role in supporting and developing local leaders, and especially other women. A prior 20 Under 40 winner, Haley is the partner in charge of the firm’s virtual accounting practice which under her leadership has grown over 500% from the time she took over.
Jessica Price with the University of Oregon
As Special Counsel for Research, Ethics & International Affairs, Jessica demonstrates leadership in profound ways. From spearheading connections with local businesses, to supporting the university’s global engagement, to supporting faculty and staff commercializing innovation, Jessica has a hand in not only her success, but the region’s as well. Noted as a kind, innovative leader, Jessica’s nominator notes that “she works quietly to improve her community”.
